Sumic IT Solutions Ltd has successfully completed its journey under the United Kingdom Trade Partnerships (UKTP) Programme, implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and funded by the UK Government through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
In August 2025, Sumic IT Solutions was selected as one of 10 ITES and BPO companies in Uganda to participate in the programme, which was designed to strengthen export readiness and support Ugandan technology and business-process service providers seeking opportunities in the United Kingdom market.
Building Export Readiness
Throughout the programme, the Sumic team participated in intensive capacity-building activities covering key areas of international market expansion, including:
UK market ecosystem and sales readiness
Export Marketing Plan (EMP) development and coaching
UK GDPR compliance and international standards
IT and BPO export strategy development
Peer learning and ecosystem collaboration
International business preparation and matchmaking support
These activities provided practical knowledge and strategic guidance to help Sumic better understand the UK market and prepare its technology services for international customers.
Final Export Marketing Plan Validation and Certification
On Thursday, 12 March 2026, Sumic reached an important milestone with the Final Export Marketing Plan (EMP) Validation and Certification Workshop.
The workshop marked the culmination of months of training, strategy development, learning, and preparation for international market expansion.
Through the programme, Sumic strengthened its understanding of export marketing, international standards, compliance, market positioning, and the requirements for successfully taking Ugandan technology services into global markets.

Completing the UKTP programme represents more than the conclusion of a training programme. It marks an important stage in Sumic IT Solutions' broader international growth journey.
